On a boring Sunday morning when you find yourself lazy with nothing to do. Why not go enjoy your time at farmers market near by?
3 Reasons why you should go to farmers market:
- Its a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the day: Whether you go by myself or with a group of friends, you will love the energy of the outdoor market! During the week, you spend so much time in front of the computer, that I’m sure you can’t wait to have an opportunity to take in the fresh, warm spring air every Sunday morning. You get to walk around, do a little people-watching (which is always intriguing in the city of Santa Monica), and truly enjoy some much needed time off…which we should all take advantage of a bit more often!
- You will stock your fridge with delicious, healthy foods instead of packaged trans fat: When you go to the Farmer’s Market, it is virtually impossible to leave without taking home delicious fruits and vegetables! Not only will this healthy fare take the place of high calorie snacks, but it will encourage you to start preparing healthier, more nutritious meals at home, instead of dining out (which can also save a ton of cash)!!
- It helps to support local businesses: If your nearest market is anything like mine, we get a ton of local farmers and business owners that sell a ton of great stuff! From local florists to bakers to jewelers…you can find it all! Each week I pick up beautiful fresh flowers and have purchased some great finds from the local vendors! Another bonus? A lot of local restaurants cook up delicious food for you to enjoy while shopping!
The Farmers Market is one of the best ways to get you cooking right! We know that high calorie consumption is one of the driving factors behind the obesity epidemic in America. So, this week, I strongly encourage you to head out to the Farmer’s Market and enjoy a wonderful day filled with delicous, healthy food and fun! Become inspired by all of the opportunities you have to incorporate fresh ingredients into filling meals that you and your family will love!
